Back in stock 11/30 (AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY) The Backcountry Essentials package includes a few of the most important items everyone should have before setting foot in an unpatrolled environment. Here are a few notes on the contents of this killer deal.

THE SHOVEL
The classic LIFELINK ENDURO has a reinforced polycarbonate blade, our stiffest and most durable for chopping ice and stubborn snow. Question the durability of polycarbonate? Try this shovel and you, like many others before you, will be a believer. Used by ski patrollers the world over this shovel has been tested by countless hours of professional abuse. The smooth surface helps prevent the snow from sticking, and the channeled shaft for quick 10-second deployment make this shovel a great asset. Available in 16 or 18 inches, BUT ONLY THE 16 INCH IS AVAILABLE IN THIS PACKAGE.

THE BEACON
Pieps has stood for high quality, innovative electronic avalanche rescue equipment for more than 20 years. After the introduction to the market in 2003, the Pieps DSP has quickly become the preferred beacon for backcountry skiers and rescue professionals. The Pieps DSP combines the most modern digital search technology with 3 antennas to create the most user-friendly beacon on the market.

Features
  • iPROBE Support: The DSP now can be temporarily deactivated by the iPROBE, allowing the searcher to focus on the next strongest signal! PiEPS now provides the first fully integrated beacon and probe safety solution for multiple avalanche burials.
  • Frequency Measurement: This function allows you to measure the frequency deviation (from the standardized 457kHz) of any other beacon on the market.
  • Old Beacon Mode: Most older analogue beacons transmit a continuous carrier (background noise) which can result in an inaccurate victim count. The PiEPS beacon will alert you when the victim count may be inaccurate.
  • Improved MARK Function: More versatile
  • Improved SCAN Function: Faster and more accurate
  • Self-Check Diagnostic
  • Fully Upgradeable System
