About Our Packages:
Basic: These packages are suitable for beginner to early intermediate skiers and riders who stick to the groomed runs at slow to moderate speeds. Both skis and snowboards have a softer flex to help which make them more forgiving for beginners. The skis have mild rocker in the tips and tails as well as a pronounced side cut to help new skiers initiate turns and begin to learn how to carve. Snowboards have rockered or flat-to-rockered bases to help with turning and reduce edge catching.
Performance: These packages are suitable for skiers and riders looking for more versatile skis and snowboards. This equipment is still generally still on the forgiving side and approachable for the beginner, but offers more room for skill progression and the ability to tackle a wider variety of terrain. Skis and boards are more in the all mountain category and can handle moderate speeds.
Demo: These skis and snowboards are the best around. We have a variety of styles and shapes in this package, so we can help tailor your selection to the type of skiing you prefer. Most of the equipment in this class is solidly in the all-mountain category. They carve up the groomers, bust through the crud, dance through the trees, and float through the powder. We also have options for those a little more focused on carving or powder. While these skis and snowboards are a must for the expert, those of intermediate to advanced skill can benefit from this equipment. The responsiveness and smooth ride make these skis and snowboards a delight all season long.
Benefits of a Season Rental:
There are many benefits to renting skis or snowboards for the whole season, including convenience, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility. With season rentals, you avoid the hassle of having to come into the rental shop each time you go to the mountain because it’s yours for the whole winter. You can choose different equipment each season, which is perfect for growing kids or adults who are progressing. You don’t have to shell out large sums of money to buy equipment that you are locked into for seasons to come. This means you have the ability to stay current with ski technology year-to-year. And forget scrounging around the classifieds to find a deal on used equipment. Most people selling gear want more than it’s worth and you might run into boot/binding compatibility issues and maintenance problems. If you’re a gear junkie who really knows what you’re doing, you might get a good deal, but otherwise it’s a recipe for an expensive mistake. Let our experts guide you to the appropriate, well maintained equipment that suits your style and abilities. Finally, ski tuning is free for the season! Not so when you own your skis or snowboard.
Skiing in Utah isn’t cheap so we make sure to offer the best value we can to our season rental customers. We are confident that we offer the best price at each level of quality/performance. We are lucky to live near truly world class skiing and we hope all Utahns get to experience it.
FAQ:
When?
Starting August 30, 2025 and going all fall while supplies last. Come in early for the best selection as well as best sales prices on helmets, goggles, gloves, socks, etc.
Can I rent just skis/board?
Yes: if you plan to rent just skis, bring your boots. We can’t set you up with out them! Unfortunately we do not rent boots only.
What if my kids grow out of their equipment during the season?
We will gladly swap out sizes if needed. If you rented early in the fall, we recommend checking your kid’s boots for fit early in the season around Thanksgiving or early December and coming back in as soon as possible if a switch is needed. We have the best selection and flexibility to make swaps early in the season.
Can I swap my equipment if I want something different or the fit isn’t right?
Yes. Sometimes you can’t tell how boots are going to feel out on the slopes when you try them on in the store. Sometimes people want a different length ski or board. Some even decide they want to upgrade packages. We will swap anything out that we have the ability to. It is best to do it early in the season otherwise the selection might not be what you want.
Can I try different demo skis/boards throughout the season?
The season rental program is not designed for sampling different equipment and making frequent swaps. If for some reason you aren’t enjoying your initial selection, you can come in and swap it for something else. As we get into the season we may not have something available that you prefer. For folks looking to sample skis, we recommend finding a public demo day or renting day by day.
What if I damaged or break the equipment over the course of the season?
If the equipment is repairable, we will charge a repair and tuning fee. This is usually the case if you run over a rock or something and have a gouge in the base known as a “core shot”. If the equipment is not repairable to a condition we can rent again in the future, we will charge a replacement fee; typically in the $150-$450 range. We offer a damage waiver for $20 that protects you from any charges related to damage or breakage. We recommend everyone get this because it helps make the season a little more care free. Anyone can break a ski or snowboard but most people think it won’t happen to them. CAUTION: Most of our competitors offer a form of protection but it only covers “repairable damage”, not broken equipment. So as you are shopping around, know that you could buy the protection and still get stuck with a big bill at the other shops!
What happens if I lose my equipment or it gets stolen?
We will charge a replacement fee, usually in the $150-$450 range, depending on the particular model ski or snowboard you rented. Lost boots typically range from $100-$250. Poles are $30. Damage waiver DO NOT cover lost or stolen equipment.
When do ski resorts open and close for the season?
This varies by resort and year to year depending on snow. Typically resorts get going mid to late November and go through late April. Some can make it into May and even beyond on good snow years.
What is the difference between a season rental and season lease?
Both terms are the same, referring to skis or snowboards rented once for the entire ski season. Some geographic areas tend to use the term season lease. Shops in Utah tend to use season rental.
Season rentals are only available to Utah residents while supplies last.
